“I knew I wanted to have an ephemeral piece somewhere in this show, and candle Sam rests in the sun for that very reason. As the weather starts to warm up and we feel the sun on our skin more and more, the outside world, ironically, melts Candle Sam, replacing his self-fulfilling prophecy of his tattered wick with equally harmful rays of endearing sunlight.” ~ excerpt from The Creature Feature

Candle Sam is an ongoing project; the wax didn't quite react to the outside light and instead has burrowed downward through a narrow hole made by the wick.
